Solene Biche’s latest series of works, “Contours de Libération: Réflexions à Nu” (Contours of Liberation: Naked Reflections), explores the complexities and implications of nudity in contemporary culture. The series aims to challenge the pervasive notion that nudity is inherently sexual or objectifying, and instead explores the beauty, strength, and vulnerability that can be conveyed through the human form.

The works touch on the attitudes towards nudity that perpetuate harmful power dynamics, and encourages us to approach nudity with empathy, compassion, and respect for others’ boundaries. Each piece in the series features didactic poetry that speaks to the agency and autonomy of the individual body, reminding us that consent and respect are crucial components of any interaction.
